'Untitled' Festival.

By Victoria J. Canning.

“The sky is clear tonight.”

I draw a thoughtful breath in from the dark sheen above me, through the thin and icy air of Friday night. All is bathed in a comforting peace, so much that if I tried hard enough, I could hear the world turning.
Moon blushed faces are turned, transfixed to the platform ahead. I don't want to be here.

My thoughts lie elsewhere in some turbulent fantasy and I am not interested in the spectacle that is shortly anticipated.
I sigh.… Continue

M83 = Youth

Words by Victoria J. “Life is but a dream.” THE WORDS spread artistically in some radical thought across the door piecing together this run down cubicle, a toilet with a rusty lock. Dusty terracotta etched off the wall in childlike patchwork, graffiti rife. Richards on Richards, one musical treasure trove and the scene of tonight's sagas.
Escaping to the bathroom I conduct my thoughts, a twenty minute set leaving me writing manically in expensive eyeliner across my le… Continue

“All I Got Is This Beat Beat Inside.”

Words by Victoria J.

NESTLED far out west, across North Americas vast and varied 'scape, home to everything, from Mountains to Lakes and dusty prairie land, lies British Columbia and, deep at its heart, bustling Vancouver. Known for hockey greats, the Cannucks and home to many aspiring and influential musicians alike, Vancouver welcomes the young artist with open arms. At its centre, a few blocks from downtown, sits Mushroom Studios. From the outside, this treasure trove sits like any o… Continue

'The Day Of Reckoning. The Day Of 333.'

Words by Victoria J.

'THE Effects of 3: 33', a collection, is a new instrumental extravaganza from San Francisco's very own spokesmen of Rock and founders of that sub-sequential Roll, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
The elusive anticipation surrounding this record since it's announcement little more than a week before it's release, is amplified by one online command, a flashing box in the centre of my screen that informs me to wait till 3: 33. I wait. The clock strikes, slowly, teasingly, b… Continue

'West London via anywhere via Paul Dixon...are you listening?'

Words by Victoria J.
AS IF emerging from a locked room, Paul Dixon enthusiastically jumps into the scene with fervent naivety. From all angles he looks set to be a high contender for title, 'next big thing' hailed only by those paid to do so.

Stepping forward and presenting to us, songs that bring about childhood memories of colouring outside the lines and a voice that monotonously breaks and quivers in excitement and anticipation at every verse, without question, Paul Dixon could be des… Continue
